Apple sent out media invites for a second major 2018 event set to be held in New York City on Tuesday, October 30 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Howard Gilman Opera House.
Apple sent out multiple different Apple logo designs on the invitations that it sent out to members of the media, all of which feature the tagline “There’s more in the making.”
This time around Apple is expected to show off two redesigned iPad Pro models, a new MacBook, and likely other updates to the Mac line.
New iPad Pro models are expected at the event. Rumors suggest the new iPads will take on design elements from the iPhone X such as the drastically reduced bezel around the display screen. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPad Pro will come in an updated 12.9-inch model and a brand new 11-inch one, Apple would replace Lightning to facilitate faster data transmission and charging speeds.
Based on rumors, Apple has developed a low-cost notebook with a Retina display that could be positioned as an updated MacBook Air.
Apple’s other desktop, the Mac mini, is similarly rumored to be getting updated with a “professional” remake.
Apple last upgraded the iMac lineup in June 2017 as part of its WWDC event, and the iMac Pro hit the market in December 2017. It’s possible we could see updates to both versions this month, although rumors of iMac Pro hardware upgrades haven’t surfaced and the machine is under a year old at this point.
