Next-gen Apple Watch to adopt solid state Side button with Haptic Feedback

Fast Company reports that a future version of the Apple Watch will be updated with solid state buttons that don’t physically click but instead use a Taptic Engine to provide haptic feedback to users.

Solid state buttons will improve water resistance in the Apple Watch and also take up less space, leaving more room for a bigger battery or other components.

Apple will reportedly use the touch sensitive data to gather more heart-related data. Noting that some sorts of measurements require more than one source of heart-rate data to work.
